Deacon Digest magazine is published six times a year, in January, March, May, July, September and November. It is the only magazine that is published for permanent deacons and their families.
Each issue of Deacon Digest has the latest news about the diaconate, with regular columns written by the Directors of the Bishops' Committee on the Diaconate; the National Association of Diaconate Directors; and the National Association of Diaconate Organizations.
Through Contact with Regional Representatives and through the diocesan offices of the diaconate in the United States, the latest developments in the diaconate are presented in Deacon Digest. World-wide news is often found in Deacon Digest also, with subscribers in many countries throughout the world.
A popular feature of Deacon Digest are the many stories of diaconate ministry written by and for deacons and their wives, in which the many faces of diaconate are seen. These articles tell the down-to-earth stories of the 13,000-plus deacons and deacon candidates in the United States, with articles by deacons from other countries also appearing in the magazine.
Each year, Deacon Digest has a Continuing Education series of three articles that appear in each of the six issues of that year. In 1997, the authors of the series are Deacon Samuel Taub, Deacon Paul Lissandrello, and Mrs. Rae Pistone, the wife of a deacon who is herself very involved in ministry.
Deacon Digest is $20 per year, with all subscriptions following the calendar year only--back issues are sent if subscription is later in the year, so the entire Continuing Education series is available to readers. To subscribe, please send your name and address (street, city, state, ZIP) to the address above, your check.
